Today was round 10 of our winter league. After a week of milder weather and catches improving through the week I was hoping to see some better weights in today’s match but the strong north westerly wind really made the going difficult for most. Alex Bradley was the exception who sat into the wind all day but caught well!! Here are the results:
Heron Lake
1st Alex Bradley peg 15 67lb 10oz (Pictured)
2nd Roger Baker peg 4 26lb 2oz
3rd Mike Bennets peg 11 17lb 9oz
Fir tree pond
1st Ricky Dennis peg 15 18lb
2nd Chris Symons peg 2 15lb 8oz
3rd Paul Glanville peg 12 12lb 4oz
Well done Alex and Ricky on winning your sections and thanks to everyone who fished.

Sunday was winter league match day and Jimmy Crossley has hit some form in peg drawing! Jimmy drew in-form peg 4 on Heron Lake and had a great day despite the wind! I thought Ricky Dennis on peg 11 was a banker but it didn’t produce on the day. Roger Baker saw off all the competition on Fir tree pond after drawing sock-on peg 9!! Here are the results:
Heron Lake:
1st Jimmy Crossley peg 4 51lb 10oz
2nd Tony Jose peg 15 32lb 5oz
3rd John Maundrill peg 20 23lb 3oz

Today’s weather sorted the men from the boy’s!!! But as it turned out it was a dry day just a bit blustery. We fished on Heron Lake and I put peg 10 in today for a change and was well chuffed when it was the last peg left in the bag! Despite the strong wind it fished well, here are the results :
1st Neil Hodder peg 10 54lb 14oz
2nd Paul Glanville peg 4 41lb 10oz
3rd Chris Symons peg 9 31lb 4oz

- Paul Glanville Peg 20 10lb 14oz
- Neil Hodder Peg 19 10lb 8oz
Well done Roger and thanks to everyone who came.

Today’s winter league match was fished in blustery conditions, it fished well for thoughs on Heron lake and it was close on Fir Tree pond but the going was tough. Ricky Dennis thought his draw arm had let him down today after pulling peg 4 from the bag, but he managed to find his way there and had a good day! Here are the results:
Heron Lake
1st Ricky Dennis peg 4 44lb 7oz (Pictured)
2nd Alex Bradley peg 11 38lb 9oz
3rd Roger Baker peg 19 28lb 6oz

Today we had a mid week match on Heron Lake. The weather was beautiful, like a spring day and the result was a close one. I drew peg 9 and was well happy, Roger Baker drew 15 and subsequently spat out his dummy! I started dobbing bread at 12 metres down the right hand margin which is usually a banker, but after 30 mins and1 foul hooked fish realised they weren’t their! I caught a few at four sections on 6mm pellet and on the pellet feeder to the far side but could see Roger catching well and knew he was in front. With 20 mins to go fish turned up down the edge and I had a 6lb fish at the whistle! Here’s the results:
