[29 Oct 2017 | Comments Off on Winter League Round 2 Results | ]

Today was round 2 today of our winter league. We had a few missing which was a shame but Ricky Dennis made his return in style. He drew spot on which is no surprise and fished a good match for a section win. It was a breezy day, not to cold but I think it defiantly made a difference to where the fish wanted to be, especially on Fir tree pond, here are the results:

Fir Tree Section
1st Neil Hodder peg 12 26lb 14oz
2nd Adrian Holland peg 15 23lb 9oz

Heron lake section
1st Ricky Dennis peg 9 60lb 2oz
2nd Roger Rachel Baker peg 5 46lb 4oz

Well done Ricky on winning your section and thanks to everyone who came.

Next Sunday there will be open and will confirm which lake later in the week.

Today’s open on Heron lake was full, which pushed the golden peg pot fund to £47. Peg 3 was drawn and no prizes for guessing who drew it!! Chris Golden Peg Symons, sadly the fish didn’t want to be on peg 3 today!!! Fishing was patchy in the southerly wind and the pegs I expected to produce didn’t. We had 11 fishing and paid top 4 overall. Adrian Holland got back to winning ways in what was a fairly close match, here are the results:

1st Adrian Holland peg 15 47lb 14oz
2nd Tony Jose peg 9 44lb 1oz
3rd Alex Bradley peg 7 39lb
4th Paul Glanville peg 19 35lb 6oz

Well done Adie on the win and thanks to everyone who came.
Next Sunday is the start of our winter league and Fir Tree and Heron lake will be closed for the match.

Today’s match was fished on heron lake and with 7 fishing this put the golden peg pot to £36. 15 came out of the bag as the golden peg where Christopher Symons ended up for the day, but to everyone’s surprise the fish weren’t there. Paul Glanville was quick of the mark, putting a number of decent stamp fish in the net early doors, but Tony Jose started to catch him towards the end and only 2lb separated them after the 6 hours, here are the results:

1st Tony Jose peg 13 68lb 3oz
2nd Paul New Pole Glanville peg 5 66lb 3oz
3rd Neil Hodder peg 9 53lb 11oz

Tony fished 8mm pellet in deep water for all his fish. Well done Tony and thanks to everyone who came.

[22 Oct 2017 | Comments Off on Mid Week Match Result Wednesday 28th September | ]

We had a mid week open today on Heron lake. We had 5 fishing and I was happy with drawing peg 15 until I got there and saw the breeze running through it, I wasn’t expecting to catch much! As it turns out I had fish at 5 metres nearly all day and didn’t really need to look anywhere else. I was sat opposite Roger Baker who was on peg 5 and could see he was catching and some were a better stamp. We had a good close match until the end. Here are the results:

1st Neil Hodder peg 15 85lb 6oz
2nd Roger Baker peg 5 66lb 12oz

Thanks to everyone who came. Our next match is an open on Heron lake this Sunday.

[14 Oct 2017 | Comments Off on 2 Day Festival Result | ]

This weekend was our 2 day festival and I think the weather had a big part to play. Saturday was very windy making presentation difficult for most, whilst Sunday was still, warm and sunny which definitely helped. Some decent weights were had both days, but the result of the weekend had to be Alex Bradley’s new lake record on Fir Tree of 79lb 2oz, who also fished a faultless 2 days. Here are the results:

Today’s match was fished in bright sunshine today but after a week of cold wind and heavy showers all the carp wanted to do was bask in the sun. Weights were well down but well spread. Nigel Hicks drew the golden peg on his first visit, he didn’t manage the win but picked up a section win, so £21 rolls over to the next open. Here are the results:

1st Alex Bradley peg 1 46lb 3oz
2nd Roger Rachel Baker 44lb 6oz
Section winners
Christopher Symons peg 5 38lb 1oz
Nigel Hicks peg 15 29lb 2oz

Alex started on 6mm pellet to the far bank and changed to corn through the match. Well done Alex on the win and thanks to everyone who came.
Next weekend is our 2 dayer. If you would like to fish there are still a few places but you will need to book.
