Fir Tree Pond, Matches »
On today’s open we fished on Fir Tree Pond, there was a cold easterly wind which made it tricky, the fish were looking for cover out of the wind which limited options on some pegs, here are the results:
- Chris Bailey Peg 11 29lb 10oz
- Chris Symons Peg 6 25lb 2oz
- Tony Jose Peg 2 19lb 2oz
Chris drew peg 11, he fished 6mm hard pellets and fed 4mm pellets at both ends of the island.
Well done Chris, thanks to all who came.
Our next open is Sunday 13th March, hope to see you there. 🙂

Heron Lake, Matches »
We had 6 brave the weather (can’t wait for weather to improve!!) in the section here at Amalwhidden, here are the results:
- Neil Hodder Peg 2 21lb 10oz
- Paul Glandville Peg 9 18lb 10oz
- Les Pearce Peg 5 18lb 8oz
I started off on a short pole line with sweetcorn and micros and started well with a few carp, this line quickly went quiet so I switched to the feeder and caught a couple of carp on hair rigged corn. From then on it was a struggle as the weather worsened, the margins didn’t produce a single fish and finished off the last hour catching on the feeder with dead reds.
Our next match is an open on Sunday 14th February, hope to see you there. 🙂
