Match Results 3rd September

Great little match today. Numbers were down due to the weather so the decision was made to have a rover, pairs match, winning pair takes all. The pairs were blind from the draw. 1 and 3 together which was Ricky Dennis on peg 3 and Tony Jose on 17 and 2 and 4 together which was Roger Baker on peg 1 and Neil Hodder on peg 5. It was a close match and everyone had good weights:

1st Neil Hodder peg 5 115lb 2oz
2nd Ricky Dennis peg 3 99lb 8oz
3rd Tony Jose peg 17 68lb 7oz
4th Roger Baker peg 1 66lb 1oz

Total pairs weight:
Neil and Roger 182lb
Ricky and Tony 167lb 1oz

Nice format lads made a change to do something different and thanks for coming on such a miserable day I hope the fishing made up for the weather!

Next Sunday’s open will be on Heron Lake, please book.

The Island on Heron Lake

The giant Gunnera leaves have started going over into the water so the island has had a good tidy up, making casting to the shallow shelf easier.

Match Result Sunday 27th August THE £100 BONUS HAS BEEN WON

Today’s match was a bit of a result for one person! We fished on heron lake and Peg 9 was drawn as the golden peg which stood at £75. Chris Symons stuck his hand in the draw bag first and no prizes for guessing what came out! We had 7 fishing today so the £100 bonus was also up for grabs. The hot, bright, still conditions were a real contrast from the wind and rain last Sunday, the fish weren’t settled and were mostly just cruising in the sun rather than feeding and Chris spent most of the day mugging fish on pellet, Here are the results:

1st Christopher Symons peg 9 102lb 1oz
2nd Adrian Holland peg 5 49lb
3rd Roger Baker peg 1 46lb 5oz

Chris walked away with 1st place £45, golden peg pot £75 and the £100 bonus for a total of £220. Well done Chris, enjoy spending you winnings on IOS and thanks to everyone who came.

Next Sunday’s open will be fished on heron lake and the golden peg pot will restart. We will be anouncing details of our new bonus pot soon so watch this space for details. If you would like to fish next Sunday’s open please book.

Match Result Sunday 20th August

Despite a wet and windy day we had 10 brave the weather and we fished on Fir Tree pond, but the going was tough. Presentation was difficult in the breezy, southerly wind and the rain all day didn’t help. On a plus note there was another £10 added to the golden peg pot which Roger Baker drew and he literally ran there, but the curse of the golden peg followed him and £68 rolls over to next Sunday. Sadly no photos today as my phone wouldn’t work in the wet, here are the results:

1st Neil Hodder peg 8 38lb
2nd Adrian Holland peg 7 29lb 8oz
3rd John Maundrill peg 15 26lb 3oz
Marc Barden won his section with a double default from peg 2 with 15lb

Thanks to everyone who came and for sitting through some rubbish summer weather. I think a new set of water proofs are top the list for one of my next, must buy’s.
Next Sunday’s open will be on Heron lake, but please book. Also we still have space in our 2 day festival, 23rd and 24th September if you would like to fish please let me know.

Match Result Sunday 13th August

Mixed fortunes in today’s match on Heron lake. We had 12 fishing, so again we paid a top 2 overall and 2 section winners. The golden peg was 18 but wasn’t won so £58 roles over to next Sunday. Fishing was a bit patchy at the start except for Adrian Holland and Nigel Taylor who we’re both catching well from the off. The breeze that got up through the afternoon definitely played a part in how some pegs fished. Tony Jose had a section win from peg 20 even though he lost approximately 50lb in the lily pads, but managed to weigh in 38lb 10oz. Overall it fished well and of note was Andy Partridge’s net of silvers that weighed 43lb 2oz, here are the results:

1st Nigel Taylor peg 9 82lb 1oz
2nd Adrian Holland peg 16 77lb 11oz
3rd Andy Partridge peg 18 69lb 3oz (section winner)
4th Neil Hodder peg 5 51lb 12oz

Well done Nigel on the win and thanks to everyone who came.

Next Sunday’s open will be on Fir Tree pond but you will need to book to fish.
